Feast of the Candles – May 15th:

The Festa dei Ceri is the soul of Gubbio, one of the oldest and most spectacular Italian folk traditions, celebrated every May 15th. Three gigantic wooden structures, topped by Saints Ubaldo, Giorgio, and Antonio, are carried on shoulders in a thrilling race through the medieval streets to the summit of Mount Ingino. A unique event of faith and collective participation, capable of inspiring unforgettable emotions in every spectator.
Procession of the Dead Christ - Good Friday:
The Good Friday Procession is an extraordinarily evocative ritual that passes through the medieval heart of Gubbio in an atmosphere of profound silence and spirituality. By torchlight and traditional fireplaces, the hooded brothers carry the effigies of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows, accompanied by the solemn and moving singing of the Miserere.
